lemAgent: what it is, how it works, and when to use it

Overview of lemAgent — lemlist's AI assistant for prospecting, campaign creation, outreach, and performance analysis.

lemAgent is lemlist's AI assistant for sales and outreach. It lets you prospect, build campaigns, write messages, and analyze results through a conversational interface — without jumping between tools or manually configuring every step.

Previously called AI Copilot. lemAgent was formerly known as AI Copilot. All references to AI Copilot in older documentation now refer to lemAgent.

What lemAgent is

lemAgent is a conversational AI layer built into lemlist. You describe what you want to achieve in natural language, and lemAgent retrieves data, generates assets, or guides you through the workflow — all without leaving the platform.

It works across three areas:

  • Lead generation — find decision-makers and build targeted prospect lists based on ICP criteria like geography, headcount, or hiring signals.

  • Outreach creation — create campaigns, write cold emails and follow-ups, personalize messages, and structure multichannel sequences.

  • Performance and deliverability — analyze reply rates and campaign results, check domain health, and surface workspace insights.

What lemAgent is not

lemAgent is not a standalone writing tool, a general-purpose chatbot, or a replacement for manually configuring campaigns. It works within lemlist's existing features — it can guide, generate, and act on your behalf, but you review and validate each step before anything goes live.

When to use lemAgent

  • You want to find leads quickly. Describe your ICP and let lemAgent search for matching decision-makers or companies instead of filtering manually.

  • You're building a campaign from scratch. lemAgent can generate the strategy, sequence structure, and messages in one guided workflow.

  • You need to write or improve outreach copy. Ask lemAgent to draft cold emails, follow-ups, or LinkedIn messages for a specific persona or industry.

  • You want to understand campaign performance. Ask for reply rate analysis, best-performing campaigns, or a summary of active outreach without digging through reports.

  • You want to check deliverability. Ask lemAgent to review domain health or flag potential SPF, DKIM, or DMARC issues.

  • You want workspace-level insights. Use lemAgent to surface data about your workspace — active campaigns, sender setup, or lead list status — without navigating manually.

When not to use lemAgent

  • Your prompt is too vague. Inputs like "find leads" or "create a campaign" without context will produce generic output. lemAgent needs specific goals, audiences, and objectives to produce useful results.

  • You haven't set up the AI Context Center. Without saved company context, lemAgent can't tailor its output to your positioning, ICP, or messaging — results will be less relevant.

  • You need precise manual control. If you already know exactly how you want a campaign structured and prefer to build it step by step yourself, the standard campaign builder is the better tool.

Tip: Before your first lemAgent session, set up your AI Context Center in Settings. It stores your company positioning, target audience, and ICP — so lemAgent's output is relevant from the first prompt.

Plan availability

lemAgent is available on the Email, Multichannel, and Enterprise plans.

  • Free trial: lemAgent is available during the trial period, but operates on fictive data only.

  • Usage: lemAgent usage is metered per conversation, with a daily limit at the workspace level.
