Learning Objective
By the end of this tutorial, you’ll know how to add a clickable link (anchor text + URL) inside an email step in a lemlist campaign.
Why This Matters
Adding links helps you drive recipients to booking pages, resources, or landing pages while keeping your email clean and readable. Using anchor text (instead of pasting a full URL) also improves the look of your message and can increase clicks.
Prerequisites
You should already know how to access and edit an existing campaign in lemlist.
Core Lesson: Step-by-Step Workflow
Phase 1: Open the right campaign and step
1) Open the campaign you want to edit
Go to Campaigns, then click the campaign where you want to add the link.
2) Go to the Sequence editor
In your campaign, click Sequence to access your steps and email content.
Phase 2: Insert your link into the email content
3) Create the link (text + URL)
In your email step, highlight the text you want to turn into a link, click the link (🔗) icon in the editor toolbar, then paste your URL into the URL field.
4) Choose how the link opens, then insert
(Optional) Check Open in new tab if you want the link to open in a new browser tab, then click Insert to apply the link.
Practical Application / Real-Life Example
If you’re inviting leads to schedule time with you, use clear anchor text like “book a time” or “pick a slot here” and link it to your calendar URL. This keeps your email simple and action-focused.
Troubleshooting & Pitfalls
Issue: The link icon is disabled or nothing happens when you click it
Root cause: No text is selected in the email editor
Fix: Highlight the text first, then click the link (🔗) icon again.
Issue: The link is inserted but the wrong text is clickable
Root cause: Only part of the intended text was selected
Fix: Remove the link, re-select the full text, then insert the link again.
