👋 Hey lemlister!
If you’re looking to set up the Website Visitors feature with Google Tag Manager, be sure to check out the step-by-step instructions below!
Let's dive into it.
Go to the People database, make sure to select "Companies" view and you will be able to find the "Website visitors" section:
Click on the gear button next to "Website visitors" and new window will pop out:
There, you will be able to add website and please ensure to use https://www.mywebsite.com format.
Click on “Generate code”. It will copy the generated script.
Access your Google Tag Manager workspace and click on ‘New Tag’.
Click on ‘Tag Configuration’ and choose ‘Custom HTML’ from the list.
Paste the lemlist tracking code you copied in the previous step into the HTML field.
Under ‘Advanced Settings’, select "Unlimited" from the ‘Tag firing’ dropdown.
Click Choose a trigger to make this tag fire... and select All Pages. Give the tag a name and then click the Save button.
Save the Tag and publish it on your website
Now, you can go back into lemlist and add the “Company that visited my website” filter.
You now have access to people in companies that visited your website 🔥
It may take a few hours to fetch and identify the first visitors. Don’t worry—once they’re identified, you’ll receive a notification directly in the app to keep you updated!
💡 Best Practice Tip: Focus on targeting individuals within those companies who align with your Ideal Customer Persona. By leveraging their high-intent signals, you can maximize your outreach success with a personalized, multichannel approach.
