Import Methods
Choose your import source from the available options.
CSV import
Click CSV import from the import source options.
Upload your CSV file and map each CSV column to the correct lemlist company field.
If needed, choose whether existing values should be overwritten, then click Push to Companies to confirm the import.
Personal email domains and company domains
lemlist never uses a personal email domain (gmail.com, yahoo.com, outlook.com and other common providers) as a company's domain. The rule applies everywhere a company is created or matched.
The rest of the row is kept. If the row also carries a company name, the company is created or matched on the name alone, with no domain stored. If the personal domain is the only company information in the row, there is nothing left to identify the company: the row is skipped on CSV import, and the public API rejects the call with MISSING_REQUIRED_FIELD.
Contacts are unaffected: the contact is created with its personal email intact, and enrichment runs normally.
Two companies that share a personal domain are auto-matched as duplicates only when their names are identical. The domain on its own is no longer proof that they are the same company.
This applies automatically to every team, with nothing to turn on. It affects newly created companies only. Companies already created from a personal domain are not changed. Editing a company's Domain field manually, including through a CRM field change, is not covered.
Best Practices
Use for account-based prospecting - Focus on company-level strategy, not just individual contacts
Assign owners - Designate team members responsible for each account
Review timelines regularly - Check activity before reaching out to coordinate with team
Use company fields - Keep important company information organized and up to date
Filter strategically - Create views for different account segments
Coordinate with team - Check who's already engaged with the company before making contact
