Learning Objective
By the end of this tutorial, you’ll know how to add a clickable link (anchor text + URL) inside an email step in a lemlist campaign.
Why This Matters
Adding links helps you drive recipients to booking pages, resources, or landing pages while keeping your email clean and readable. Using anchor text (instead of pasting a full URL) also improves the look of your message and can increase clicks.
Prerequisites
You should already know how to access and edit an existing campaign in lemlist.
Core Lesson: Step-by-Step Workflow
Phase 1: Open the right campaign
1) Open the campaign you want to edit
Go to Campaigns, then click the campaign where you want to add the link.
Phase 2: Insert your link into the email content
2) Create the link
Open the relevant Email step in your sequence, click the link (🔗) icon in the editor toolbar, then enter the clickable Text and paste your destination into the URL field.
3) Insert the link
After adding your text and URL, click Insert link to apply it to your email.
Practical Application / Real-Life Example
If you’re inviting leads to schedule time with you, use clear anchor text like “book a time” or “pick a slot here” and link it to your calendar URL. This keeps your email simple and action-focused.
Troubleshooting & Pitfalls
Issue: The link icon is disabled or nothing happens when you click it
Root cause: The email step is not selected or the editor is not active
Fix: Click into the email step first, then use the link (🔗) icon again.
Issue: The wrong text appears as the clickable link
Root cause: The anchor text entered in the link pop-up is incorrect
Fix: Open the link option again and update the Text field before inserting the link.
