Understanding lemlist and lemwarm bundles

lemlist + lemwarm: The Ultimate Email Outreach Combo 🚀

Updated yesterday

Learning Objective

By the end of this tutorial, you'll know how to access your included lemwarm plan, assign lemwarm seats to teammates, configure warm-up safely, and monitor deliverability results.

Why This Matters

Combining lemlist with lemwarm creates a powerful outreach system that helps keep your emails out of spam folders by building sender reputation through automated warm-up processes. The warm-up process typically takes 3–5 weeks and helps you consistently land in the primary inbox. With proper setup, users typically see deliverability scores above 90%, leading to 2–3x higher reply rates on their outreach campaigns.

Prerequisites

Before starting this tutorial, you should already have:

Core Lesson: Step-by-Step Workflow

Phase 1: Understand Your Bundle Benefits

Step 1: Review your plan's lemwarm benefits (and pricing rules)

Check which lemlist plan you have. With Email Pro or Multichannel Expert plans, each user gets access to lemwarm (Essential) included in the bundle.

  • Existing customers (already subscribed before the change):

    • Email Pro: $69/month

    • Multichannel Expert: $99/month

    • You can still increase or decrease your seat count on your current plan at your existing pricing.

    • If you change plan (e.g., Email Pro → Multichannel Expert), or if you cancel (churn) and later renew, you’ll move to the new prices.

  • New customers (after February 5th):

    • Email Pro: $79/month

    • Multichannel Expert: $109/month

Prorated Billing: If upgrading from a Lemwarm-only plan to a paid Lemlist plan, Lemwarm Essential will be included, and recent Lemwarm charges will be prorated as a discount on your next invoice. Similarly, if you opt for higher plans, such as Email Pro, the prorated value of your existing Lemwarm subscription is applied to future invoices.

Why this matters: Understanding your benefits and pricing rules ensures you're maximising the value of your subscription and avoiding surprises when changing plans or renewing.

Step 2: Check email address limits

The Email Pro plan allows up to 3 email addresses per user, while Multichannel Expert provides up to 5 email addresses. All connected addresses under one user can use the same lemwarm access (based on the seats assigned to that user).

Tip: If you manage multiple email addresses for different campaigns, keep them under the same lemlist user so warm-up management stays centralized. Also, make sure to comply with lemlist Terms when it comes to connecting multiple emails to one account

Phase 2: Access lemwarm and Confirm Your Included Plan

Step 3: Log in to lemwarm using your lemlist email

Go to app.lemwarm.com and log in using the same email address you use for lemlist (SSO or email/password). Use your existing lemlist email. Do not create a separate account with a different address, or the bundle may not be recognized. For better synchronization and improved tracking of emails, it is recommended to use OAuth instead of SMTP/IMAP connections, particularly for Gmail and Microsoft email accounts.

Step 4: (Alternative access) Open lemwarm from the product switcher in lemlist

In lemlist, open the product switcher from the top-left (lemlist dropdown), then select lemwarm.

Step 5: Activate the Essential plan

Note: Lemwarm Essential may appear as $29/month but will show as $0 if your paid Lemlist plan is active.

In lemlist, open your workspace Billing page and find the lemwarm card. and seats for that workspace.

  1. Navigate to the "Plans & Billing" section

  1. Click Manage plan to view and manage your lemwarm subscription

  1. Select the lemwarm Essential Plan - it will show as $0 for lemlist subscribers

Why this step: Manual activation is required in the "Plans & Billing" section to enable lemwarm features - it's not automatic.

Step 6: Assign lemwarm seats to team members

From the same lemlist Billing page, use the lemwarm seat toggle on each user to activate or remove access. If a user does not have a lemwarm seat yet, click the toggle to activate it (it will show as $0.00 for eligible lemlist bundles). If you turn the toggle off later, the user will no longer have access to lemwarm features.

Phase 3: Configure Your Warm-up Settings

Step 7: Complete technical setup verification

Before starting warm-up, complete your email authentication setup including SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MX records, and Custom Tracking Domain.

Use lemwarm's technical setup checker to verify all settings are properly configured. This step is especially critical for users with SMTP/IMAP connections, as incorrect configuration may result in reduced email visibility or deliverability.

Step 8: Set warm-up parameters

Configure your warm-up settings based on your email account age:

For accounts less than 6 months old:

  • Warm-up limit: 30 emails/day

  • Ramp-up increment: 1 email/day

For accounts older than 6 months:

  • Warm-up limit: 40 emails/day

  • Ramp-up increment: 2 emails/day

Why these settings: Gradual increases prevent triggering spam filters while building reputation steadily.

Step 9: Start the warm-up process

In lemwarm, go to your Deliverability score dashboard and click Start lemwarm to begin sending and receiving warm-up emails.

lemwarm will automatically:

  • Send emails to its warm-up network

  • Simulate human-like email interactions

  • Help pull emails out of spam (when possible)

  • Build your sender reputation gradually

Phase 4: Monitor and Optimize

Step 10: Track your deliverability score

Monitor key metrics in your lemwarm deliverability dashboard:

  • Deliverability score (aim for 90+)

  • Emails landed in spam

  • Blacklist signals

  • Status insights and recommendations

Keep lemwarm always active. If leads mark your campaigns as spam, it can be reflected in results, helping you identify issues with content or sending patterns.

Step 11: Consider upgrading to Smart plan (optional)

If you need advanced features, you can upgrade to lemwarm Smart (pricing depends on your workspace and billing period).

Smart plan benefits include:

  • Personalized warm-up emails

  • Industry-specific clusters

  • Custom deliverability alerts

  • Real email template warm-up

Decision point: Upgrade if you're sending to specific industries or need to warm up actual campaign templates.

Practical Application / Real-Life Example

Example: B2B Sales Team Implementation

Sarah's team at TechStartup Inc. implemented the lemlist–lemwarm bundle:

  1. Setup: 5 sales reps, each with Email Pro plan ($69/month for existing customers; $79/month for new customers after the pricing change)

  2. Savings: Each rep uses the included lemwarm access rather than buying a separate warm-up tool

  3. Configuration:

    • Each rep connected 3 email addresses

    • 30-day gradual warm-up for new domains

    • Maintained a 95+ deliverability score

  4. Results:

    • Reply rates increased from 8% to 23%

    • Zero spam complaints after 3 months

Try It Yourself Checklist:

  • Verify your lemlist plan includes lemwarm

  • Log into lemwarm with the same email as lemlist

  • Assign lemwarm seats to the right users in Billing

  • Complete technical setup before starting campaigns

  • Set conservative warm-up limits initially

  • Monitor results daily for the first 2 weeks

  • Keep warm-up active even during campaigns

Troubleshooting & Pitfalls

Issue: Can't access the included lemwarm plan

  • Root cause: Using a different email for lemwarm than your lemlist account, or no seat assigned to your user

  • Fix:

    • Log out of lemwarm

    • Log back in using the same email address associated with your lemlist user

    • In lemlist Billing, confirm your user has an active lemwarm seat toggle

    • Verify you have an eligible lemlist plan (not free trial or Email Starter)

Issue: lemwarm not warming up multiple addresses

  • Root cause: Email addresses are connected under different lemlist users (and seats are not assigned as expected)

  • Fix:

    • Consolidate email addresses under the intended lemlist user (when appropriate)

    • Ensure that user has a lemwarm seat enabled in lemlist Billing

Issue: Deliverability score dropping

  • Root cause: Scaling cold sending too aggressively during warm-up, poor targeting, or spam-triggering content

  • Fix:

    • Reduce cold email volume while reputation is still building

    • Wait the full 3–5 weeks before scaling

    • Review content and sending patterns for spam triggers

Issue: Team member can't access lemwarm

  • Root cause: The user is set as a guest seat (or not assigned a seat) in lemlist Billing

  • Fix:

    • Admin: enable the lemwarm seat toggle for that user in lemlist Billing

    • User: log into lemwarm using their lemlist email

    • Confirm the invite is accepted if the user is still “Pending invitation”

Issue: I’m seeing different prices than a teammate / than what’s listed in this article

  • Root cause: Your workspace may be on existing customer (legacy) pricing or new customer pricing after the planned early-February change.

  • How pricing applies:

    • Existing customers keep their prices when adjusting seat count.

    • Switching to a different plan or canceling and renewing applies the new prices (+$10 per plan).

Issue: I'm receiving a lot of “spam” emails since I started lemwarm

  • Root cause: If those emails have lemwarmup in the subject line, they’re not spam. Those are lemwarm warm-up emails. lemwarm sends warm-up emails to other lemwarm users, and you’ll also receive warm-up emails from other lemwarm users (then lemwarm replies to them).

  • Fix:

    • Create a filter/rule in your mailbox for emails with lemwarmup in the subject line.

    • Set the rule to: Skip Inbox (Archive), Never send to spam, and Mark as important (so your mailbox stays clean without harming warm-up).

    • Do not delete, forward, move to a folder, or reply to these emails manually. It can interfere with lemwarm’s warm-up behavior. Additionally, ensure your Gmail filters are properly set up:

    • Check for labeling conflicts under Gmail Settings > Filters.

    • When creating filters, select 'Also apply filter to matching conversations' to include existing emails. If Lemwarm emails are not appearing in your Sent folder, consider the type of mailbox connection you are using:

    • SMTP/IMAP connections: Lemwarm emails sent via SMTP/IMAP do not appear in the Sent folder as these protocols don't allow Lemlist to store emails in your mailbox.

    • OAuth connections: OAuth is recommended for improved synchronization and visibility of Lemwarm emails, especially for Gmail and Microsoft accounts.
