What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is an essential security measure that adds an extra layer of protection to your lemlist account. While a password protects your account, adding 2FA makes unauthorized access significantly more difficult by requiring a second verification step. Enabling 2FA ensures improved safety for campaigns, billing, and other sensitive data.

2FA protects access to campaigns and billing even if a password is compromised. By using an authenticator app like Google Authenticator, Authy, or Duo, you generate unique, time-sensitive codes that act as a second layer of security .Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access to your account by requiring two forms of verification: something you know (your password) and something you have (a code generated by an authenticator app). By activating 2FA, you enhance your account's security and protect sensitive information from potential hacking attempts.

Troubleshooting / Pitfalls

  • Time sync error: ensure your phone’s time is set to automatic

  • Lost device: use recovery codes stored securely

  • If 2FA is disabled, your account is only protected by your username and password, leaving it more vulnerable to unauthorized access. For improved security, it is recommended to enable 2FA as soon as possible.
