Learning Objective
By the end of this tutorial, you’ll know how to add/import a timezone for each lead, and use the Local time filter in Tasks and Calls to contact leads during their working hours.
Why This Matters
Timing is one of the biggest factors in replies and successful calls. The Local time filter helps you reach leads when they’re most likely available, so you can avoid calling late at night and prioritize the leads you can contact right now.
Prerequisites
You have leads in lemlist (imported or added manually).
Your leads include a timezone value (typically imported via CSV).
Core Lesson — Step-by-Step Workflow
Phase 1: Add timezone data to your leads
Import your leads with a timezone field so lemlist can calculate local time for each lead.
Make sure your CSV contains a timezone column (for example:
timezone).During import, map that column to the timezone custom variable.
Phase 2: Filter Tasks/Calls by local time
Go to Tasks (or Calls), then click Filters. This is where you can build a view that matches your calling window.
Click Add a filter to choose what you want to filter tasks/calls by.
In the filter picker, keep Contact selected, then choose Timezone (this powers the Local time filtering for your leads).
Set the time range you want to work in (for example, 09:00 to 18:00). lemlist will only display tasks/calls for leads whose local time falls within that range.
This ensures you don’t call prospects in the middle of the night or contact them outside their working hours.
Practical Application / Real-Life Example
If your team makes calls between 09:00 and 18:00 (in the lead’s local time), set that exact range in the Timezone filter. You’ll instantly see only the tasks/calls for leads who are currently within your ideal workday window.
Troubleshooting & Pitfalls
Issue: A lead doesn’t show up when I filter by Timezone / Local time
Root cause: The lead doesn’t have a timezone value mapped/imported.
Fix: Re-import (or update) the lead with a timezone value, confirm it’s mapped to the timezone custom variable, then re-apply the filter.
Issue: I can’t find the local time filter option
Root cause: The filter is added under Contact as Timezone.
Fix: Go to Filters → Add a filter → Contact → Timezone, then choose your time range.
