The Importance of SPF & DKIM Records

When and why setting up your SPF and DKIM record will improve your domain reputation.

Updated over a week ago

Heeeeey lemlister!

Before we deep dive into it, SPF and DKIM records are little bits of information you set up with whomever you bought your domain from.

They are part of your DNS settings. They help email services know if your sending is legitimate. 🀝

Okay, but still, do I need to set them up?

πŸ‘‰ For Gmail:

lemlist doesn't actually send emails itself. It simply tells Gmail to send your emails. This means that it'll use the gmail.com domain and Google already configured SPF and DKIM records for it.

πŸ‘‰ For Google Suite:

Yes - and it's pretty simple! πŸ€“

You should make sure your DNS records are updated to include the proper SPF and DKIM records for Google.

πŸ‘‰ For other providers:

Yes - and we're pretty sure you'll nail it! πŸ’…

However, these settings won't be specific to lemlist. 😌 They'll just be part of setting up your email domain.

Q: Who can set these up for you?

Make sure to check with your email provider, as each provider will have specific help articles to walk you through this setup process. πŸ’ͺ
