Understand Our Seat System

Master lemlist seat management: assign, optimize access, and save costs while ensuring your team can send campaigns seamlessly.

Updated over a week ago

Hey, lemlisters! 👋

Here’s a simple rule to remember:

If you need to send campaigns through lemlist, you must have an active seat assigned to your account.

You can invite as many users as you want to your team, but only users with an enabled seat will have full access to the lemlist platform.🚀

Let’s break it down with an example:

Example: Plans & Billing

In the first screenshot of the Plans & Billing section:

  • I’m subscribed to the Lemlist Multichannel Expert Yearly Plan, paying for 50 seats.

  • Out of these 50 seats, only 36 have been assigned to my team members.

In the second screenshot, if we scroll down, we can clearly see the difference between enabled and disabled seats. 👀

Why Is the Seat System Useful?

The seat system makes it easy to:

  • Manage team access effectively.

  • Reassign seats from one user to another, making it particularly valuable for large teams or agencies.

For example, if you want someone in your team to manage campaigns without actively sending them, you can:

  • Invite them as a team member.

  • Disable their seat access to avoid extra costs. 💰

Pro Tip: If someone is invited for administrative purposes, ensure they are added as an Admin to oversee the team without requiring a seat. 🛠️

Impact on Your Account

Seats are automatically assigned to users when you invite them, so you don’t need to do anything extra—unless you run out of seats.

If your plan runs out of available seats:

  • You can still invite new users, but they won’t have access to send campaigns unless a seat is reassigned to them.

How to Manage Seats ⚙️

Follow these steps to enable or disable seats:

  1. Navigate to Plans & Billing in your lemlist dashboard.

  2. Toggle seat access for each user as needed.

Seat Permissions Overview

Here’s how seats and roles affect user access:

  • Admins with a seat: Full access to all features, including campaign management and sending.

  • Users with no seat:

    • Can view and edit campaigns.

    • Cannot send campaigns if they are the sender.

  • Billing Issues: Access to all features except campaign sending.

  • Campaign Senders: Must have an active seat to send campaigns.
