Verify your campaign has started

Learn the essential steps to confirm your campaign's start for a seamless marketing journey

Updated over a week ago

TL;DR

If you’re unsure whether your lemlist campaign is running, start by launching your leads. Next, in the campaign, look for the sending pace notification (e.g., “One lead will be contacted every X minutes”) and the loading symbol beside the campaign name, these confirm the sequence has started. Finally, open the campaign Overview to check Last activities and confirm steps are being executed. You can also check the Outreach queue to confirm messages are scheduled/sending.

Symptoms

  • Your campaign shows “Draft” or no activity even though you scheduled it to start.

  • You don’t receive any emails yourself or through test contacts after launching.

  • There’s no “contacted every X minutes” message or spinning icon next to the campaign name.

  • Overview/Reports don’t show any executed or scheduled actions.

Environment

This fix applies to any active or scheduled campaign in lemlist, including multichannel sequences. You need Campaign access (owner or member) to view statuses and activity. Make sure you’ve connected your sending account and that your daily sending limits are not reached.

Step‑by‑Step Fix

  1. Launch your leads

    • Open your campaign and go to the leads panel.

    • Click Launch generated leads to activate your leads.

    • Verify: Leads move from To launch to Launched / start showing progress statuses (e.g., In progress).

  2. Check for the sending pace notification and loading symbol

    • In the campaign header, look for:

      • A notification message (e.g. “One lead will be contacted every 20 minutes”) that indicates the sending pace.

      • A loading icon (spinning wheel) beside the campaign name that indicates the campaign is actively running.

    • Verify: Both the message and icon are visible. If they’re not, check that the current time falls within your campaign schedule.

  3. Open the campaign Overview to confirm activity

    • Open your campaign’s Overview tab.

    • In Last activities, review the most recent events (e.g., email opened, profile visited, step skipped/bounced) to confirm the sequence is executing steps.

    • Verify: If you see recent activities updating over time, your campaign has started. If there’s no activity, ensure you have launched leads and that your schedule isn’t set too far in the future.

  4. Check the Outreach queue

    • From your dashboard, open Outreach queue to see scheduled actions across campaigns.

    • Use the date sections (e.g., Today) to confirm actions are queued for the current day.

    • Verify: Upcoming steps appear in the queue. If nothing is scheduled, confirm your campaign schedule and sending capacity.

Confirm It’s Fixed

✓ The campaign shows a sending pace notification and a loading icon next to its name.

✓ In Overview, Last activities show executed steps/events for your leads.

✓ The Outreach queue shows upcoming actions scheduled for today/coming days.

✓ Test contacts or your own email address have received the campaign messages (when applicable).

Why It Happens / Prevent This

Often this confusion occurs because leads weren’t launched or the campaign schedule hasn’t started yet. Campaigns also respect daily sending limits and will delay sending if capacity is low, or if your deliverability settings enforce a slower pace to protect your domain. Launch leads before the scheduled send time and double‑check your schedule and time zone. Use the Outreach queue and Prediction Planning to see upcoming actions and avoid surprises.

Alternatives

  • If you need a more granular view of upcoming sends, open Prediction Planning from the Reports menu to see forecasted times for each step.

  • Check your email provider’s Sent folder to confirm messages are leaving your account.

  • If your campaign is still not running after the scheduled time, try pausing and relaunching your leads.
