If you're managing multiple clients or teams in lemlist, the Agency cockpit makes it simple to keep everything organized. This guide walks you through setting up agency accounts, assigning the right roles, and keeping client data separate.
What is an Agency account?
An Agency account lets you manage multiple teams from one place. Each team operates independently with its own campaigns, billing, and user access. Think of it as separate workspaces under one roof.
This setup is useful if you:
Run an outbound agency managing campaigns for different clients
Oversee separate teams like Sales and Marketing within your company
Need different plans for different teams
Key benefits
Centralized control: Admins can oversee all teams and campaigns from the Cockpit.
Data isolation: Each team has its own campaigns, leads, and unsubscribe lists. No risk of cross-contamination between clients.
Separate billing: Each team receives its own invoice every month, so you can track costs per client or department.
Custom access: Assign clients or teammates the right role so they only see what they need to see.
How to set up an Agency account
Setting up takes just a few steps. You'll create teams, invite users, and assign roles.
Step 1: Create a new team
Click your avatar in the bottom-left corner to open the profile menu, then open the team switcher and select Create a new team.
Step 2: Access the Cockpit
After creating your team, go to Cockpit from the profile menu. This is where you manage all teams, roles, and settings.
Step 3: Manage teams in Cockpit
In Cockpit > Manage teams, you can view your teams, confirm changes, and set up options like a custom tracking domain per team.
Step 4: Invite users
From Cockpit, locate the team you want to manage, click Invite users, then enter the email addresses of the people you want to invite and choose whether to add them as paying seats or guest.
Important: Billing is per paid seat. A paid seat is assigned to a user when you invite them as a paying seat.
Understanding user roles
Roles control what each user can see and do. Choose the right role to match each person's responsibilities.
Admin: Full access to all features, including the Cockpit, billing, and team management. Best for agency owners or team leads.
Member: Can create and send campaigns, manage leads, and view reports. Cannot access billing or the Cockpit. Best for teammates running day-to-day campaigns.
Extern: Limited access, mainly to view team reports if password-less login is granted. Best for clients who need visibility into campaign performance without editing access.
For more on each role, check the Agency Roles article or learn about Externs specifically.
Guest seats: manage without extra cost
You can invite up to 5 guest seats on the Multichannel Expert and Email Pro plans, or unlimited guest seats on the Enterprise plan.
Guest seats don't require a paid seat. If you assign a guest seat the Admin role, they can manage the team without occupying a paid seat. This is useful for stakeholders or external managers who need oversight but won't send campaigns.
Using the Cockpit
The Cockpit is your control center for managing all teams. From here, you can:
See all team members and their roles
Invite new users or change user roles
Set up custom tracking domains for each team
Check billing for each team individually
Learn more in the Cockpit article.
Campaign migration and data privacy
When moving users to agency mode, campaigns are preserved only if the user is the sole sender. Campaigns with multiple senders cannot be transferred. If you need campaigns migrated from one team to another, reach out to our support team.
Each team keeps its data completely separate. Campaigns, leads, and unsubscribe lists are isolated, so there's no accidental sharing between clients or departments.
