Change user settings (Agency)

Learn how you can enable lemlist, set sending limits, edit signature for all your teammates or agency clients.

TL;DR

Agency admins can modify user account settings, sending limits, email signatures, and notifications from the Cockpit without logging into each user's account. Go to Cockpit → Manage Teams, select the user, click Edit, make changes, and save. Takes about 3 minutes.

  • Team leads who need to standardize settings for new users during onboarding

  • Operations managers enforcing compliance policies like sending limits

If you're not an Admin or don't manage a team workspace, this article won't apply to you.

Why This Matters

Changing user settings centrally saves time and ensures consistency. Instead of asking each teammate to adjust their own profile, signature, or sending limits, you can apply settings from one place.

This is especially helpful when onboarding new users, rolling out compliance policies, or maintaining brand consistency with unified email signatures.

Key Concept: What You Can Edit

As an Admin, you can modify the following settings for any team member:

Account Details: First name, last name, profile picture, password, and GDPR agreement.

Sending Settings: Connect or disconnect email providers, unlink LinkedIn, and set email signatures.

Sending Limits: Daily and hourly email quotas to control campaign sending volume.

Notifications: Enable or disable email notifications and alerts for the user.

You cannot change a user's login credentials, role, or team membership from this screen. For role changes, see the Agency Roles article.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Click your profile in the bottom-left corner, then select Cockpit.

  2. In CockpitManage teams, find the user you want to update, then click the three dots on the right of their row.

  4. Update the settings you need using the left-side menu:

    • Account settings: Update personal information (like first/last name), and other account-level preferences available in this panel.

    • Sending settings: Manage sending-related user settings.

    • Notifications: Enable/disable user notifications.

    • Sending limits: Set limits to control sending volume.

  5. Click Save at the bottom of the page.

How you’ll know it worked

  • The updates appear when you open Edit for the same user again.

  • The user sees the updated settings in their account (where applicable).

  • Email signature changes apply to new campaigns started after the update.

  • Sending limit changes apply immediately.

Troubleshooting

Issue: I don’t see the Cockpit menu.

  • Root cause: Your account doesn’t have Admin permissions.

  • Fix: Ask a workspace Admin to update your role or make the changes for you.

Issue: My changes to a user’s email signature aren’t showing in live campaigns.

  • Root cause: Already-launched campaigns keep the signature that was active when the campaign started.

  • Fix: Start a new campaign (or restart after updating settings) to use the updated signature.

Issue: I can’t find the option to change a user’s role.

  • Root cause: Role changes aren’t done from the user settings (Edit) panel.

  • Fix: Use the user’s three-dot menu in Manage teams and choose the role-related option. See Agency Roles for details.
