Learning Objective

By the end of this guide, you'll know how to generate the lemlist Website Visitors tracking script and where to paste it in Webflow so lemlist can identify companies visiting your website.

Why This Matters

The Website Visitors feature reveals which companies are visiting your website—even if they don't fill out a form. This lets you proactively reach out to interested prospects who are already engaging with your content.

Prerequisites

Before you start:

  • Active lemlist account

  • Webflow account with admin access to your site

  • Your website URL (including https://)

How It Works

Once installed, the tracking script identifies companies visiting your website. lemlist will start showing matching companies in your Signals results.

Note: It may take a few hours to identify the first visitors. You'll receive an in-app notification once visitors are detected.

Install Tracking Script

Step 1: Create a Website Visitors watchlist in lemlist

  1. In lemlist, go to Signals.

  2. Click New watchlist.

Step 3: Add the script to Webflow

  1. Log in to your Webflow dashboard.

  2. Open your site settings.

  3. Go to Custom code.

  4. Paste the lemlist tracking script in the Head code section.

  5. Save your changes.

  6. Publish your Webflow site for the changes to take effect.

⚠️ Note: If you already have code in the Head code section, keep it and paste the lemlist script below your existing code.

Step 4: Review identified visitors in Signals

  1. Go to Signals in lemlist to see companies/leads detected by your watchlist.

Result: You’ll see the detected companies/leads and their status as they are identified.

What Happens Next

Identification timing: First visitors may take a few hours to appear. You'll receive an in-app notification when visitors are identified.

How to use: Use your Signals results to identify interested companies and take action (e.g., assign, enrich, or outreach based on your workflow).

Troubleshooting

No visitors appearing after 24 hours

Fix:

  • Verify the script is installed in Webflow Head code (not Footer)

  • Confirm your Webflow site was published after adding the script

  • Confirm the correct website domain/URL was used when generating the script (include https://)

  • Ensure your website is receiving traffic

Script conflicts with existing code

Fix: Existing code doesn’t need to be removed. The lemlist script can coexist with other tracking scripts.
