Tracking how many emails you send helps you monitor campaign activity, stay within your provider’s limits, and protect deliverability. In lemlist, you can check sending volume from Reports, review daily activity per mailbox in Account health, and update your Sending limits.
Learning Objective
By the end of this tutorial, you’ll know how to (1) visualize daily send volume in Reports, (2) review sent emails per day from Account health, and (3) adjust daily sending limits for a specific email address.
Why this matters
Email providers enforce sending thresholds and may throttle or block mailboxes that send too much too fast. Keeping an eye on sending volume—and setting conservative daily limits—helps reduce spikes, avoid provider warnings, and maintain stable deliverability.
Prerequisites
An active lemlist account with at least one connected email address
Access to Reports and Settings
At least one campaign that has sent emails (to see historical data)
Core Lesson — Step-by-step workflow
Phase 1: View your daily send volume in Reports
Go to Reports, then click Edit widgets in the top-right corner to customize what you’re tracking on the dashboard.
Click Add widget, then select Messages sent over time to add it to your dashboard.
Use the date range picker and the campaign filter at the top of the page to narrow the sending volume you want to analyze.
Review the Messages sent over time chart to see sending volume for the selected period.
Phase 2: View sent emails per day in Account health
Click your name in the bottom-left corner, then select Settings.
In Team settings, select Account health, then use the dropdown to choose the user/mailbox you want to review.
Review the table to see how many emails were sent per day for that mailbox.
Phase 3: Configure a daily sending limit for an email address
Click your name in the bottom-left corner, then select Settings.
In Account settings, click Sending limits, then adjust the daily sending limit for the email address using the +/– controls.
Practical application / real-life example
Example workflow for a mailbox that’s starting outreach or recovering deliverability:
Set a conservative daily sending limit (to avoid spikes).
Run campaigns for a few days, then review Messages sent over time to confirm volume matches expectations.
If you see unexpected jumps, check Account health to identify which mailbox is driving the extra sends (often due to follow-ups across campaigns).
Troubleshooting & pitfalls
Issue: “Daily limit reached” appears unexpectedly.
Root cause: Total sends (including follow-ups) reached your configured limit within the rolling window.
Fix: Wait for the rolling window to move forward, then reduce campaign volume or lower the daily sending limit (if your provider supports it).
Issue: The widget shows 0 messages sent.
Root cause: The selected date range has no sends, or filters exclude the activity you expect.
Fix: Expand the date range and clear filters, then check again.
Pitfall: Assuming limits reset at midnight.
Why it matters: Sending limits are calculated over a rolling window (not a calendar day).
How to avoid it: If you hit your limit mid-day, expect it to “free up” progressively as the rolling window moves.
Pitfall: Setting limits higher than your email provider allows.
Why it matters: Gmail/Outlook may throttle or block sending, even if lemlist is allowed to attempt more.
How to avoid it: Keep lemlist limits at or below your provider’s recommended volume.
