Learning Objective

By the end of this guide, you'll know how to reply to emails and LinkedIn messages directly from lemlist's Inbox, saving time by managing all conversations in one place without switching between apps.

Why This Matters

Switching between lemlist, your email client, and LinkedIn wastes time and creates friction. Replying directly from lemlist's Inbox lets you:

  • Stay focused – Manage all lead conversations in one interface

  • Save time – No need to open Gmail, Outlook, or LinkedIn separately

  • Keep context – See the full campaign history while replying

  • Track engagement – All replies stay connected to the campaign for reporting

Prerequisites

Before replying to the Inbox:

  • You have leads who replied to your campaigns

  • You're in the Inbox section of lemlist

  • Your email/LinkedIn account is connected to lemlist

Core Lesson: Reply from Inbox

Step 1: Open the Inbox section

Select Inbox from the left menu.

Option: Open full email tab. If you need a larger compose window with more formatting options, open the full email view before sending.

Reply via LinkedIn

If you contacted this lead through LinkedIn in your campaign, you can send them a LinkedIn message directly from the Inbox section as well.

All their further responses, whether email or LinkedIn, will appear in the Inbox section, keeping the conversation unified.

Troubleshooting

Issue: Can't reply to a lead

Fix:

  • Verify your email/LinkedIn account is connected in Settings → Sending Settings

  • Check that the lead's conversation shows in the Inbox (if not, they may not have replied)

  • Ensure you have an active internet connection

Issue: The reply isn't sending

Fix:

  • Check for error messages in the compose window

  • Verify your sending limits haven't been reached

  • Try refreshing the page and sending again

Optimization Tips

Use templates for common replies: Save time by creating reply templates for frequently asked questions or common objections.

Keep context in view: Before replying, review the lead's previous messages and campaign history visible in the inbox to personalize your response.

Reply promptly: Fast responses increase conversion rates. Set aside time daily to check the inbox and reply to new leads.

Use the full email tab for complex replies: If your response requires formatting, links, or attachments, use the full email tab for better editing tools.
