Heeeeey lemlister! 👋
Adding an unsubscribe link to your cold emails is essential for several reasons:
Respect for recipients: It gives people the choice to opt-out, showing that you value their time and preferences.
Improved deliverability: An unsubscribe link reduces the chances of your emails being marked as spam, protecting your sender's reputation.
Legal compliance: Laws like GDPR and CAN-SPAM require an unsubscribe option in emails, so including it helps you avoid fines or penalties.
Professionalism and trust: It makes your emails look more transparent and credible, which improves your relationship with prospects.
An unsubscribe link is about more than following the rules—it’s about making your emails more effective and respectful.
🤔 How to do so?
➡️ When editing your message: Write something that allows the person to unsubscribe.
Most of the time, people add it right before their signature.
You can simply write "Unsubscribe" or be a bit more creative.
Example: "In case you didn't like my joke, click here so I won't email you again. I still think it was a good joke though... 😔"
➡️ Highlight the word/sentence where you want to add the unsubscribe link.
➡️ Click on the 3 dots in the bottom bar. (1)
➡️ Select the icon "Unsubscribe link." (2)
What happens when a lead clicks the unsubscribe link?
The lead is added to the Unsubscribe list.
This stops the campaign for the lead.
You won’t be able to add them to any future campaigns.
If the lead is active in other campaigns, those campaigns will also stop.
🔧 Manually Unsubscribe Leads
You can manually unsubscribe leads by adding them to the Unsubscribe section under Settings.
Click on your avatar and go to Settings.
Navigate to the Unsubscribe section and click Unsubscribe Leads.
Add the email addresses or domains of leads you want to unsubscribe.
🖌 Note:
If a lead unsubscribes via the link, they cannot be removed from the Unsubscribe list.
However, if you manually unsubscribe a lead, you can remove them later if needed.
Enjoy ❤️
